Nightclub dancing incorporates two very different styles. The first is fast, freestyle dancing that is done to rock or disco. At clubs, dances, and parties people move to the pulsing beat for hours. It's a great release and very good exercise. The other nightclub style is slow dancing. You move around the dance floor turning and swaying in each other's arms. Vicki Regan teaches dancing the way she learned, step by step, one move at a time. Everything is carefully explained and demonstrated for both men and women. You'll start with the basics, then work your way up to combinations and moves that are easy to learn, but are very impressive on the dance floor. You'll learn in your own home, at your own convenience, and at your own pace. If you didn't learn a step perfectly the first time simply rewind the tape. You can practice alone, with a partner, or invite a group of friends. It's good exercise and great fun. If you're a beginner, ten minutes into this tape you'll be saying, "I can dance!" Vicki Regan has danced on Broadway and in the movies, and was National and North American Ballroom and Latin Dance Champion. She has taught many people including other dance teachers and ballroom competitors. Ron De Vito, Vicki's teaching partner, is also an acclaimed Broadway dancer and a former National Ballroom Champion.

All you can dance DVDs are the best. Fun, simple and step by step. So far the best dance teaching DVD.
I read a ton of reviews prior to getting this video, many of the people were disappointed cause it seemed too simple, too basic, and or too dated. While I am not the best dancer in the world, I have always aspired to be, and this video(DVD) is strictly for beginners or those who don't know how to dance at all, or would like to do so. I have taken ballroom dancing at the YMCA, but you cannot use that kind of dance at your typical nightclub, or company party. If you want the basics of modern freestyle dance(nightclub, weddings, etc) broken down into a simple easy to follow steps this DVD is a good choice. While the music is too canned, and the teachers come across as plastic since they clearly aren't actors, they do a good job of letting someone get the basics of freestyle dance in the comfort of their own home, and at their own pace. This is not a DVD for kids, nor teens, but for in my opinion, older adults who want to learn a new skill, and have some fun instead of being a perpetual wallflower. Like with any skill dance is all about practice, and your confidence will improve, and you can relax, and not be so afraid of looking awkward if you at least get the basics down, and this DVD definitely can help.
not worth buying it. Shows some outdated steps which you already do naturally. Nothing to learn.
I was unable to complete viewing of this video due mostly to a lack of relevance to modern nightclub dancing. The sytle is far to '80's-ish to be useful.
If you cannot dance at all, this video will teach you how to at least hold your own on the dance floor. I had always avoided dancing at all costs. Up until recently, I would only go to bars that didn't have dance floors. I would even make excuses to my girlfriend to get out of dancing when we'd go out. I finally decided to do something about it after a friend made fun of me recently. I've asked family members and friends to teach me how to dance, but nobody was able to teach me the fundamental rule that this video does: All you do is move your feet to the beat, and everything else will follow. I had always tried too hard to move my upper body to the beat. That's not the idea at all! Some of the video was not helpful. Nobody does the forward-and-back type dancing. Some of the side-to-side stuff was not too useful, but the basic 'step left-step right', to the beat, was quite helpful indeed. Get that basic step down and you'll find yourself doing your own variations of it on the dance floor. Skip the double step...you probably won't even find room for that in most clubs. If you can look past the occasional corniness of the video, you can really pick up some useful tips and can learn to dance in minutes!
