Fashion Fever Bookends are actually a set of two real bookends for girls to use on a shelf in their room and also serve as an environment for Barbie doll. Each set of bookends comes with a doll, cool furniture and fun accessory pieces that capture the essence of the doll. Makes a fun addition to any girl's bedroom.

Living in a house with people who love to read, this purchase was a great one! Not only is the doll a plus but the bookends are great for holding our books together. This was a plus-plus in our house. The price was great at less than $5.00. Great idea for the reader who loves Barbie!

As a 49-year-old mother of three boys who is playing with Barbie again, I bought this on clearance for myself at Tuesday Morning for $9.49. There are pros and cons and my low rating is based mostly on the sheer difficulty in opening the package. It's a miracle I didn't break any of it - the "mirror" on the right bookend must be meticulously removed by opening the sealed cardboard back in order to keep its little clear holder on - it would be too easy to pull it apart. Of course you could glue it to the bookend, but I don't think that's the intention.
Yes, this is the "Peggy Hill" (King of the Hill) of Barbies - her feet are enormous. But some of us also have enormous feet, so whatever. She is a gorgeous doll with beautiful hair. No hairbrush was a disappointment but her beanbag chair is surprisingly well made and she can actually sit on it by herself!
I wish they wouldn't put those clear bands on things like the magazine she's "holding," there's no place for it (except I guess in the pink storage box) and I'm sure that it would be easily lost.
It's well worth the clearance money I paid for it, but I could picture a little girl breaking it before it was out of the box. I almost did that myself. |
we love the accessories this item comes with but the doll itself is... we have mixed feelings about her. my daughter, 4, loves her hair because it's so different from all her other barbies, but she hates her feet. her feet are way too big, even bigger than ken's (my daughter tried making her wear ken's shoes but it didn't work). another thing we love and hate about her is that her hands can move like pregnant midge (good), and she has a bigger body than most barbie dolls (bad because she can't use the other doll's clothes).
Just bought these on clearance for my daughter. Couldn't have gotten a better deal and the product is larger and much more fun looking than I had pictured. She will be very happy to receive it. Seems durable and a must for a fashion fever fan
This doll is very pretty. The face paint is awesome and it's nice to be able to bend it's arms. The hair is of a very high quality, unlike most fashion fever dolls. The two chairs (I used the pink box as a chair for my many dolls) and environments are very nice. Now on to the reason I gave this doll three stars...For some reason, the feet of the doll are about three or four times the size of regular Barbie's, making it useless for all of those Barbie doll shoes you have and will collect. It also makes it rather hard to but pants and capris on this Barbie.
